Beverley Callard lost consciousness for roughly ten minutes on the set of Irish soap Fair City and required treatment from paramedics, who discovered her blood pressure was 'through the roof'. The former Coronation Street actress, 69, diagnosed with breast cancer in February, said she was at a loss to explain the episode, posting on Instagram: 'I was boiling hot — I seemed to lose 10 minutes but I don't know why.' She was permitted to leave on the condition she spends the weekend resting, with a hospital appointment scheduled for next week.
Callard has 'not been right' since completing radiotherapy in July and describes the lingering nausea from treatment as 'horrendous'.
She is awaiting results of biopsies taken from her stomach and pleaded with followers who had experienced similar collapses to get in touch.
Despite the scare, she insisted she feels 'a complete fraud' at home — adding: 'the dogs know I'm poorly, they won't leave me alone.'
