'Big Brother' US star Amber Siyavus dies at 46 as season 8 winner reveals she had left rehab for heroin
Amber Siyavus, whose death at her Las Vegas home on October 9 is under investigation, had recently left rehab for heroin addiction, a fellow 'Big Brother' season 8 castmate revealed.
Amber Siyavus, who competed on season 8 of the CBS reality series 'Big Brother' in 2007, was found dead at her Las Vegas home on October 9, aged 46. The Clark County Office of the Coroner/Medical Examiner in Nevada confirmed her death, with cause and manner still pending. Season 8 winner Dick 'Evel Dick' Donato disclosed that the last time he had contact with Siyavus, she had just left rehab for heroin. Host Julie Chen Moonves paid tribute on Instagram, writing: 'Thank you for your heart and honesty. We will remember you with love.'
Siyavus entered the show as a single mother and Las Vegas cocktail waitress, lasting 62 days before finishing seventh.
She had already endured devastating loss — her daughter Lexi Tomcavage died in January 2018 at just 18 in an apparent suicide.
Known as 'Whamber' for her frequent tears, Siyavus said she went on the show purely to try to win the prize money for her family.
