Blindfolded wife locked herself in a bathroom after her ex-Tory councillor husband brought a stranger into their bedroom, court hears

Joanne Young, 49, of Swindon, told Winchester Crown Court that her husband Philip Young, 50, had pleaded guilty to 56 charges of drugging and raping her across a 13-year campaign of abuse — and that four other men he recruited now face trial. Philip Young had posted her photo "inanimate and tied to the bed blindfolded" on Craigslist, Grindr and swinging websites to solicit strangers. Joanne, who waived her anonymity, described herself as "emphatically monogamous" with "vanilla" tastes who had no idea the abuse was happening.
Philip Young secretly filmed the attacks — one defendant wore a balaclava, apparently knowing 'this was not precisely something to be proud of'.
Joanne told police: 'It was so intrusive — he knew I would never, ever accept that or want that.'
The four men on trial are Norman Macksoni, 48, Richard Wilkins, 62, Connor Sanderson-Doyle, 32, and Mohammed Hassan, 38, all denying the charges.
