A man and woman were arrested after Essex Police forced entry to a property on Sawyers Grove, Brentwood, at 7.20am on Friday following reports of a damaged door during a neighbour dispute. Explosive Ordnance Disposal experts are examining several unidentified items found inside. A 100-metre cordon stretches across much of Sawyers Grove and parts of Sawyers Hall Lane and Highland Avenue.

Residents within the exclusion zone were directed to King George's Playing Fields Pavilion while specialists continue their work.

Michael Page, 84, said he was told to leave at around 11:30 with no explanation: 'They wouldn't tell me anything.'
