Bookies' favourite Wayne Rooney 'is offered more than wife's record £1.5million' for his I'm A Celeb jungle stint

Rooney is set to pocket more than the £1.5million record fee Coleen earned on the show in 2024, reportedly this year's highest-paid campmate by some distance. The former England captain, 41, was spotted in good spirits at Old Trafford on Tuesday covering Manchester United's Champions League tie before watching son Kai, 17, play a youth match against Roma at Leigh Sports Village. William Hill already has him at 11/4 to be crowned King of the Jungle when the show launches on November 16.
Rooney is odds-on favourite despite assessments that wife Coleen, narrowly beaten in 2024, brought more charisma to the jungle than he will.
A potential feud looms with campmate Sharky, who brawled with Rooney's close friend and last year's jungle king Ginge during a Baller League match.
The full lineup also includes actress Joanna Page, comedian Leigh Francis and model Leomie Anderson, with Mariella Frostrup the rank outsider at 25/1.
