Boy, 10, is fighting for life after a three-car crash in the Scottish Borders as four others are hurt

A 10-year-old boy is fighting for life after a three-car crash in the Scottish Borders. He was a passenger in a Seat Leon that struck an Audi Q5 and a Jaguar F Pace on the A701 south of Blyth Bridge at around 12.15pm on Friday. Both male drivers — of the Seat and the Jaguar — sustained serious injuries, while a teenage boy in the Seat and a woman in the Audi were hospitalised. The A701 between Broughton and Blyth Bridge remained closed until approximately 7.10pm.

Sergeant Grant Hastie called on drivers with dash-cam footage to review it for any relevant evidence.

Police have released no details of any injuries to the Audi's driver.

Witnesses should call 101, quoting incident 1186 of October 16.
