Boy, 13, stabbed in Taco Bell toilets after mob of 25 youths armed with knives storms Rochdale restaurant

A 13-year-old boy was stabbed in the toilets of a Rochdale Taco Bell on Saturday evening after a mob of around 25 knife-wielding youths allegedly pushed past a door guard and rushed inside. Diner David Lane, who was at the restaurant with his wife and children, had already urged staff to lock the doors after fighting broke out among teenagers inside — but his warning was ignored. Lane then pressed napkins against the boy's wounds, later saying: 'If it wasn't for my actions, I think he would have died.' Police have since arrested two teenage boys on suspicion of assault and possession of a bladed article.
Lane's son had been in the same toilets just moments before the mob forced its way in, narrowly avoiding the attack.
Greater Manchester Police were called at 6.09pm; the Taco Bell on Riverside Walk remains closed while enquiries continue.
'My children shouldn't have to see that,' Lane said, describing the scene as 'horrific' as an air ambulance landed nearby.
