Boy, 14, is stabbed in Manchester's Arndale Centre car park as armed police swarm the busy city centre

Shop workers say staff and security chased a group from the Arndale Centre up to the ninth floor of its multi-storey car park, where the 14-year-old was knifed. He had reportedly been in a row with other males just before the attack. Greater Manchester Police were called at 3.20pm on Saturday. Det Insp Sam Jones said the boy's injuries are not life-threatening or life-changing.

One witness said: 'I think security went into the car park and people ended up stabbed.'

Two armed response units and the Tactical Aid Unit swarmed High Street, Withy Grove and Dantzic Street.
