Boy George visits Israel's Nova massacre site and says he was 'horrified' by people claiming October 7 was 'made up'
Boy George with Isaac Herzog, President of Israel, ahead of a 7 November concert for which he donated 1,500 tickets to Nova survivors and bereaved families.Boy George, 65, whose new song We Will Dance Again opens with the line 'You say genocide, I say war', which he said he wrote after researching the term and finding it 'not appropriate' for Israel's Gaza campaign.
Culture Club singer Boy George, 65, met Nova survivor Ofir Amir and former hostage Omer Shem Tov — held in Gaza for 505 days — during a press conference at the Re'im site where more than 360 people were murdered on October 7, 2023. He told reporters he had been motivated to visit after Jewish friends in London told him they felt unsafe, and that he found it impossible to stay silent after seeing the attack unfold live.
Boy George says his new pro-Israel song 'We Will Dance Again' eclipses 'Karma Chameleon', calling it something he 'needed to write deeply inside'.
He warned of a 'very dangerous pronoun generation' shutting down debate, saying friends had privately backed him but begged him not to use their names.
At his request, 1,500 free tickets for his November 7 Tel Aviv show — dedicated to Nova survivors — were donated to bereaved families through the Tribe of Nova Community Association.
