Boyfriend and another suspect are arrested over the LA murder of an SNL writer's sister he claimed had moved out

Delorean Bijon Brandon, 41, and Kaylee Nicole Markowski, 34, were taken into custody on Thursday by LAPD on murder charges, each held on $2 million bail. Investigators believe the pair killed Christina Downer, discarded her body, then used her compromised phone to lay a false trail indicating she had gone 'off the grid'.

Brandon had told police at the time that Downer moved out months before, leaving her car, dog and all her belongings behind.

The case broke open when Downer's phone washed up on Santa Monica Beach, prompting investigators to search an Airbnb property in Joshua Tree's high desert using K-9 units.

Downer's brother Jimmy Fowlie announced in April that she had been found dead, stating that 'those responsible' had used her phone to request money and hide the fact of her death.
