Bradford pair are jailed for life for beating the woman's boyfriend to death with an iron after a drinking session

Zbigniew Chlebek, 67, and his co-defendant Beata Walczak, 58, beat Jaroslav Daniszewski with a domestic iron during an all-night drinking session in Chlebek's one-bedroom flat in Shipley, West Yorkshire, inflicting 24 separate wounds to his head and face. A judge told them they had "finished him off" with a final blow while their victim lay unconscious, then waited roughly a day and a half before calling police and pretending to have just found the body.
The broken, blood-stained iron was recovered from the flat; Walczak was caught on CCTV leaving the next morning in blood-soaked clothes.
Judge Geoffrey Marson KC told the pair: 'You were finishing him off and making sure he was dead' — and said the motive will never be known.
