Bradley Lowery's mother urges fans not to target boy, 14, who is arrested and bailed over taunt at Coventry match
Bradley Lowery, aged six, whose mother asked the arrested boy's family to help him understand the hurt caused.
The 14-year-old Coventry fan handed himself into West Midlands Police on Sunday after footage went viral showing him grinning and pointing at a photo of Bradley Lowery on his phone towards the away end during Saturday's 3-1 Premier League win. Police confirmed Tuesday he has been bailed with conditions after being arrested on suspicion of a public order offence. Coventry City FC has also launched its own investigation into the incident.
Bradley Lowery died aged six in 2017 after battling neuroblastoma, a rare childhood cancer, and became beloved across the football world.
It is not the first such incident — Sheffield Wednesday fan Dale Houghton was sacked and given a 12-month suspended prison sentence for a similar taunt in 2023.
Gemma Lowery said: 'Surely mocking a child who died from cancer is not banter?'
