Brazilians vote in knife-edge runoff as Trump ally Flávio Bolsonaro vows to free his jailed ex-president father
No candidate who trailed after Brazil's first round has ever come back to win the runoff, and President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, 80, finished more than 2.2 million votes behind on 4 October. Final polls show the race in a dead heat. Jair Bolsonaro is serving a 27-year sentence under house arrest for plotting a coup. Almost 160 million Brazilians are eligible to vote, with results due within hours of polls closing.
President Trump called Flávio Bolsonaro's first-round win a "very big" victory.
In the final debate, Lula said his rival can "memorize things, but they can't learn".
Spurs' Richarlison accuses a Bolsonaro friend, who denies it, of grabbing his island.
