Britain and Poland sign a three-year pact to build new air defence missiles and drones to counter Putin's sabotage campaign

Defence Secretary Wes Streeting signed the Warsaw Defence Plan in the Polish capital on Tuesday, launching the first phase of cooperation under the UK-Poland Security and Defence Partnership Treaty. The three-year pact covers joint development of next-generation air defence missiles, drone and counter-drone technologies, cybersecurity, and expanded Baltic Sea patrols to protect subsea communications cables.
Streeting called Russia's daily drone incursions against Poland 'state-sponsored terrorism', not merely hybrid threats.
The two nations will also share expertise on frigate development — Britain's Type 31 and Poland's Miecznik share a common design.
Western intelligence officials have separately warned Putin has an appetite to escalate sabotage across Europe, with sources fearing conflict as early as 2030.
