'Britain's loneliest dog' Sadie finally finds a forever home after more than 1,000 days in RSPCA kennels

Sadie, a collie cross rescued from a Cornwall property where she was living with 200 other dogs in outdoor compounds, has been rehomed after spending nearly three years in kennels. Mabel Edge from Westward Ho! in Devon spotted one of the daily social media videos the RSPCA posted to find Sadie a family, and visited the dog four times before taking her home. Her previous owner was jailed and banned from keeping dogs for life.
Edge said Sadie sat in the footwell of their campervan for the whole journey home — 'and from that moment it was like she'd been in our lives forever.'
The RSPCA had posted a video a day of Sadie online; Edge discovered her clip on day 83 after her partner said: 'Well why don't we go and look at her?'
The charity warned that rising numbers of multi-animal hoarding cases are putting 'unprecedented pressure' on its resources.
