British mother, 36, drowns in the Bahamas trying to save her two sons, who were both pulled from the sea

The family were snorkelling off Bimini on Wednesday when a strong current carried the boys away. Water taxi captain Linty Stuart spotted the 36-year-old 'face down' after bystanders dragged her sons to safety. His first mate, Jason Saunders, battled to revive her with CPR at North Bimini Ferry Dock, but she 'didn't come around'. Doctors at a local clinic later pronounced her dead.

A witness said: 'Both children were rescued. She's a hero.'

Her husband swam out for one boy before a bystander reached him first.

Saunders said: 'It's scary. We tried... it's sad.'
