British pair have £50m in assets including a £1.9m yacht frozen and could lose them WITHOUT a conviction

The unnamed man and woman have three months to demonstrate that their fortune was legitimately acquired. The haul includes a £2.6m bank account, a fleet of eight vehicles valued at roughly £600,000, and real estate across England, France, Spain and Portugal. The High Court granted the unexplained wealth order on Friday — only the second such order since January 2018. Prosecutors are investigating illicit international funds laundered through Britain.

CPS proceeds-of-crime chief Adrian Foster: they must explain their wealth or 'risk having their assets seized'.

The powers derive from the McMafia legislation, which takes its name from the BBC crime drama.
