British tourist who admitted raping an unconscious UK holidaymaker in a Magaluf hotel walks FREE with a suspended sentence

Billy John Chard faced seven years behind bars but struck a plea bargain at the start of his trial in Palma, Spain, this morning. He was handed a two-year suspended sentence, with the court counting his drink and drug intoxication as mitigation. Chard, then 19, attacked the 22-year-old twice while she was unconscious at the BH Mallorca Resort in July 2022. He avoids jail if he pays her compensation and does not reoffend for two years.

Chard was arrested three days after the attack but arrived at court today a free man.

He confessed through his lawyer, Daniel Martinez Raso, in a deal agreed with prosecutors.

The same hotel was the scene of a 'wolf pack' gang-rape of an 18-year-old British tourist in 2023.
