British troops are to rehearse deploying to post-war Ukraine in a major Nato wargame in Poland next month

Defence Secretary Wes Streeting announced the drill during his first visit to the US in the role, following meetings with Pete Hegseth at the Pentagon. At least 1,500 British, French and German personnel will join Polish forces to rehearse the movement of troops, food and fuel. The exercise was agreed upon at a coalition of the willing summit in July. Separately, President Donald Trump declined to say whether Vladimir Putin started the war.
Streeting: 'Ukraine is the front line for freedom everywhere.'
Trump also denied America was behind the disruption to Kyiv's Starlink access.
Poland's prime minister called the British and French presence 'crucial'.
