Broadstairs drug dealer caught napping next to £240,000 cocaine stash jailed for four years

Rennie Ash had been on licence from an earlier five-year drug-dealing sentence when Kent Police raided his Westover Gardens home and uncovered three kilogram blocks of cocaine, cash and money-laundering equipment.

Already serving a licence from a five-year sentence for cocaine supply handed down in 2021, Ash pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply and money-laundering and was sentenced to four years in prison at Canterbury Crown Court on August 27.

The court was told he had accepted the drugs to pay off a debt to those above him in an organised crime group.

Officers searching the property seized £3,540 in cash, a money counter, latex gloves and boxes of clingfilm.

Ash, a father of four who had been living with his elderly mother and sister, told police he had 'chucked away life for money.'
