Bruno Fernandes tells under-pressure Michael Carrick he is committed to rescuing Man Utd's season ahead of Saturday's Chelsea clash
Bruno Fernandes held clear-the-air talks with Manchester United manager Michael Carrick on Tuesday and pledged his commitment to turning the club's dismal season around. United have decided to keep Carrick in charge for Saturday's lunchtime trip to Stamford Bridge despite Sunday's 3-0 home defeat to Bournemouth. Gary Neville admitted he was 'surprised but happy' the club had chosen not to sack Carrick after what looked like a farewell lap of Old Trafford.
United sit 16th in the Premier League, eight matches having passed in all competitions without a victory.
Carrick led Tuesday morning's session at Carrington and is set to take his place in the dugout at Chelsea on Saturday.
Eddie Howe, Antonio Conte, Julian Nagelsmann and Fabian Hurzeler had all been linked as potential replacements.
