Arsenal secured a crucial comeback victory at the Emirates, defeating Leeds United 2-1 to move level on points with Manchester City at the Premier League summit. Riccardo Calafiori brought Arsenal level on 62 minutes, and Bruno Guimaraes, introduced from the bench, won the game with a goal just six minutes later. The result ends Leeds' unbeaten start to the season and gets Arsenal's title defence back on track after the 3-0 defeat to Brighton that preceded the international break.
Noni Madueke, one of four changes, created more chances than any other player and his cross led directly to Arsenal's equaliser.
Glenn Hoddle called Declan Rice 'the most effective player in the Premier League', praising his defensive block and the backheeled assist that set up Guimaraes.
Arteta warned Guimaraes more is expected, saying: 'At Brighton he wasn't at that level — this is the level for Arsenal.'
