Bulgaria's Moscow-friendly president Iliana Yotova is on course to win the runoff, with exit polls putting her on 52%

Iliana Yotova, Bulgaria's 62-year-old incumbent head of state, is projected to win Sunday's presidential runoff with around 52% of the vote, which would make her the country's first elected female president. Exit polls show pro-Western challenger Andrey Gyurov trailing on roughly 45%. Polling stations closed at 8pm local time after a campaign dominated by Bulgaria's fraught relationship with Russia and the war in Ukraine.

Yotova ran as a "President of Peace", repeatedly calling for negotiations with Moscow rather than continued military support for Ukraine.
