Badenoch and Burnham trade blows at PMQs as Tory leader is accused of missing chance to land killer blow

Andy Burnham was rebuked in the Commons after referring to the "individual responsible for the murder" in the Ann Widdecombe case — prejudging guilt before any verdict has been reached. The PMQs session was already bruising for the PM, who also faced demands to explain deleted hospitality records showing two dinners with Manchester City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak after previously claiming only one "significant" meeting. Kemi Badenoch piled in over Burnham's Russia-Brexit comments, accusing him of "doing Russia's dirty work".
Badenoch also demanded a date for defence spending to reach 3% of GDP, mocking Burnham for refusing to set a 2030 deadline ahead of the Budget.
Burnham hit back by taunting Badenoch over her Iron Dome gaffe, after she told a radio interviewer to "speak to a defence expert" about her own party's flagship £10bn Britannia Shield policy.
Nigel Farage said he would hand Chagos control to the US in exchange for American silence on the Falklands, as MPs voted 309 to 113 against withdrawing from the ECHR to deport illegal migrants.
