Burnham orders 'manual trawl' of Man City records after admitting his published dealings may be incomplete

Andy Burnham has issued a new statement directing Greater Manchester Combined Authority to conduct a 'manual trawl' of records relating to gifts and hospitality he received as mayor, after previously undisclosed dinners and complimentary tickets from Manchester City's owners came to light and were absent from his initial disclosure. The PM had promised MPs on Monday that all his dealings with City would be published that afternoon, but the subsequent GMCA statement covered only two meetings — a formal 2021 meeting with chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak and an informal 2019 encounter in the stands.
Tory sports spokesman Louie French says Burnham 'cannot blame the GMCA' and must return to Parliament to apologise for misleading the public.
