Prime Minister Andy Burnham ruled out a snap election within 12 months on Wednesday, hours after Chancellor John Healey delivered the government's first Budget. Burnham visited a London community centre to drive home his message that the government's priority is "people" rather than party advantage, while Farage and Badenoch both sharpened their attacks on the package.

Ipsos now puts Labour eight points clear of the Conservatives at 32 to 24, with Reform on 20 and on a downward trend.

Kemi Badenoch blasted the Budget as not "good enough," accusing Labour of pushing taxes to record levels while letting the welfare bill spiral out of control.
