Burnham stumbles through his first PMQs and then crashes SNP conference in Aberdeen

Andy Burnham's debut as prime minister at PMQs was branded a "gaffe fest" by critics, with his stumbling performance reportedly set to haunt him. Hours later he landed in Aberdeen, deliberately timing his first substantive visit to Scotland to coincide with the SNP's annual conference. Labour MP Maureen Burke used PMQs to beg Burnham for help with Glasgow city centre's spiralling violence, open drug dealing and 1,200 sexual offences recorded in a single year.
Burke told the Commons that SNP underfunding had 'crippled' public services and allowed Reform to exploit safety fears in the city.
Burnham is expected to use the Aberdeen visit to put pressure on the SNP on their own turf as he tries to claw back Scottish votes.
