Canadian trans school bus driver who was fired over a pink miniskirt and 'Lolita Line' sign is now claiming discrimination
Driver L.Z., identified only by initials under a court-granted anonymity order, drove children at St Michael the Archangel Catholic Elementary School in Woodbridge, Ontario, while wearing a thigh-high pink skirt, a white ruffled blouse with an exposed midriff and knee-high stockings. L.Z. also placed a 'Lolita Line' placard in the bus window — a name associated with Nabokov's novel about the sexual abuse of a 12-year-old girl. Parents filmed a confrontation outside the school in June 2025, and the video went viral.
The York Catholic District School Board apologised to parents and confirmed L.Z. would no longer transport its pupils.
L.Z. filed a human rights complaint against the school board and Landmark Bus Lines in March, alleging discrimination on grounds of gender identity, sex and ethnic origin.
The case only became public after L.Z. successfully applied for a publication ban — the very move that drew press attention to it.
