The Grade II-listed Old Rectory in Marston Moretaine, Bedfordshire, first went up for sale at £2.25m in 2024 but failed to find a buyer. A £300,000 cut in April brought it down to £1.95m, and it now sits at £1.8m. This is the garden where the war veteran walked 100 laps in 2020, raising £39m for NHS charities. He died aged 100 the following year.

Daughter Hannah Ingram-Moore and husband Colin had to demolish an unauthorised £200,000 spa block.

Captain Tom Foundation trustees knew nothing of the planning bid lodged in the charity's name.

Estate agents simply describe the house as a 'magnificent seven-bedroom property'.
