Carrick admits Manchester United are still unclear on how long Benjamin Sesko will be sidelined with shin injury

From the Newshound archive · first published 10 October 2026.

Michael Carrick has confirmed that Manchester United have no clear timeframe for Benjamin Sesko's recovery, with the Slovenia striker unavailable for Saturday's home fixture against winless Tottenham. Carrick noted the current injury is in a similar region to Sesko's earlier shin problem but is not the same issue, and the club is still assessing its options. United go into the Spurs match already short of bodies, with Patrick Dorgu and Noussair Mazraoui both picking up problems during the international break.

Sesko, United's most expensive signing last summer, missed the entirety of pre-season before returning to net twice in the opening six games of the campaign.
