Two men who shot each other outside a Birmingham nightclub over 'disrespect' are jailed for 18 years each

A single bullet passed through Kimani Durrell-Smith's shoulder and struck Garth Pantry, an innocent jerk chicken seller at Aston's FJ Lounge. Mr Pantry needed surgery for a partially collapsed lung and has not worked since. Aaron Nubie had returned to the venue to 'put right the disrespect' he felt, Judge Andrew Smith KC said. Both men fired within a fraction of a second at around 6am.

Nubie represented himself in court and called the shooting 'a form of self-defence'.

Nubie turned up at hospital with gunshot wounds and claimed he couldn't remember how.

Police have since won a closure order shutting FJ Lounge.
