CCTV footage shows Paul Whitehouse, 68, being shoved at an Islington cashpoint in what a witness calls 'queue rage'

The Fast Show and Gone Fishing star had dashed out last Friday to fetch medicine for his wife, Dr Mine Conkbayir, 45. A stranger pushed him away from the machine beside the Sainsbury's Local on Essex Road, then threw his bank card at him. The attacker apparently thought Whitehouse had stepped ahead while both waited. Dr Conkbayir first described it on Instagram as a mugging.

A shopkeeper called the escalation 'completely disproportionate' and 'no doubt terrifying for Paul'.

Dr Conkbayir said the attacker scuttled off 'empty-handed', adding: 'But that's not the point.'
