Judge Tony Baumgartner told Brown his fame did "not entitle you to special treatment" before handing him eight months suspended for 12 months.
Judge Tony Baumgartner told Southwark Crown Court that Brown's repeated strikes to Abraham Diaw's head with a heavy glass bottle were "plainly dangerous" and constituted "violence of this kind in a crowded nightclub" that he called serious. Brown, 37, had dodged multiple attempts to interview him under caution and was only arrested in Manchester in May 2025 after police tracked his flight to the UK. His vocal coach Omololu Akinlolu, 40, known as HoodyBaby, received a four-month suspended sentence for punching Diaw in the back of the head.
The judge told Brown directly: 'Your fame and commercial success do not entitle you to special treatment.'
Diaw was chased, pushed to the floor and kicked after the bottle attack, and later needed hospital treatment for a head injury.
The attack happened in February 2023; Brown only pleaded guilty to affray in July 2026, with grievous bodily harm charges dropped.
