CCTV shows Paul Whitehouse, 68, being shoved at an Islington cashpoint in a 'queue rage' attack rather than a mugging

Filmed from across Essex Road beside a Sainsbury's Local, the footage shows the stranger hurling the Fast Show star's bank card at him before Whitehouse picks it up off the pavement. The flare-up appears to have started because the man had been waiting for the machine first. Whitehouse had nipped out last Friday to fetch medicine for his wife, Dr Mine Conkbayir. She had called it a mugging on Instagram.

A shopkeeper called the escalation 'completely disproportionate' and 'no doubt terrifying for Paul'.

Conkbayir said her husband fought back and the attacker fled 'empty-handed'.
