Celebrity hairstylist and Frizz Ease entrepreneur John Frieda dies aged 75
John Frieda, the celebrity hairstylist to Princess Diana who made millions from Frizz Ease, died peacefully with his family at his side. Colleagues announced his death on his Instagram account, describing him as "a true icon of the hair industry." Among his clients were Princess Diana and Joanna Lumley, and he built a hair empire before selling his Frizz Ease brand to a Japanese company for £260m in 2002.
Frieda was Lulu's second husband; they married at Hampstead Register Office in 1976, had a son Jordan, and divorced in 1992.
His wealth had risen to place him fourth among the UK's richest beauty industry figures by 2025, putting him in the same bracket as Charlotte Tilbury.
Colleagues' tribute read: 'His talent and passion touched so many, and his legacy will live on in every single one of us.'
