Celebrity shark swims BACK into South Korean canal just hours after rescuers finally guided her out to sea
The three-metre female dusky shark, nicknamed Bukangi, slipped beneath an outer net and under a floating pontoon at about 11pm on Wednesday. That was roughly five hours after an eight-hour livestreamed rescue in Busan had ended. She was then trapped circling a patch of water near the canal mouth. Busan officials and the Oceans and Fisheries Ministry now say they are seeking new ways to free her.
Wednesday's rescue was the third attempt, after failures on 29 September and 2 October.
Officials fear for her because she has shown no sign of feeding regularly and the water is turning colder.
More than 1.6 million people have visited her, including President Lee Jae Myung.
