Celebrity Traitors star calls producers 'like human traffickers' over strict phone ban during filming
The 21-celebrity cast of *Celebrity Traitors* series two, one of whose unnamed members reportedly branded BBC producers "like human traffickers" over a strict phone ban during filming.
An unnamed Celebrity Traitors star erupted in a furious row with BBC producers after being barred from making casual calls to family and friends between scenes. The celebrity reportedly "kicked off" and branded the production team "like human traffickers" — despite the strict no-phone rules being clearly explained before they signed up. Castmates and producers were left baffled by the outburst. Calls are permitted only at producers' discretion, on a producer's phone, with a member of the team present, to prevent leaks from the show filmed months in advance.
The row comes as Celebrity Traitors is already engulfed in a race-bias dispute after actress Myha'la claimed 'unconscious racial and cultural bias exists' in the BBC show's format.
Former Traitors contestant Nathan Khider dismissed Myha'la's claims, calling her a 'bad loser' and saying she 'made a rod for her own back' by winking at a Traitor at the roundtable.
Last Thursday's episode drew 10.3 million viewers, making it one of the BBC's biggest hits despite — or perhaps because of — the mounting off-screen drama.
