Celebrity Traitors star Romesh Ranganathan reveals his wife was branded a 'race traitor' by an online troll for marrying him

Romesh Ranganathan, 48, revealed that his wife Leesa, 47, was sent an Instagram message by a troll saying she was "no longer welcome among the whites" for marrying him. The British-Sri Lankan comedian told an intimate pub gig in New Malden, south London, that he himself receives racist messages every single day. Leesa was "incredibly upset" — prompting Romesh to quip she should "cry those tears into the swimming pool."

Romesh admitted he felt guilty: 'I am the reason that Leesa received that message.'

The couple met as teachers at Hazelwick School in Crawley and married in 2009, sharing three children.

Romesh made the comments while testing new material for his forthcoming tour, 'Romesh Ranganathan Will Change Your Life', which kicks off next month.
