Charlie Kirk and Erika Kirk, whose mother-in-law Kathryn Kirk has broken her silence to defend Erika against online abuse, saying Charlie would "hate" how his widow has been treated.
Kathryn Kirk, mother of assassinated conservative commentator Charlie Kirk, has broken her year-long silence to defend her daughter-in-law Erika, rejecting claims the two women are feuding. In an interview, Kathryn said the only thing that moves her to tears is seeing strangers attack Erika online, and she insisted Charlie would have been furious at it. She flatly denied rumours that his parents blamed Erika for his death or are locked in disputes over his will and the future of Turning Point USA. A TMZ reporter, she revealed, reached her before she had even managed to speak with her own daughter following the shooting.
'Erika and I have, through the trauma, grown closer — we know the depth of our despair,' Kathryn said.
Charlie and Erika had been finalising their wills and discussing bulletproof vests the very night before he was killed.
Erika, now Turning Point USA CEO, reportedly told the interviewer she is 'fixated and paranoid' about reaching heaven to be reunited with her husband.
