Charlotte Church is forced to close her Welsh wellness retreat after admitting business model has failed

Charlotte Church's 'healing retreat' The Dreaming, based at the £1.5 million Rhydoldog House near Rhayader in Wales, will shut from December after its founders conceded the business model has faltered in the current economic climate. The retreat, which opened in 2023 in a former Laura Ashley home, charged guests as little as £1 per night under a 'pay-what-you-can' scheme and offered free stays to NHS workers. Church, 40, had previously confessed on her Discovery Channel reality show 'Dream Build' that she had blown 'pretty much all my life savings' on the property. A statement offered no reopening date, saying the retreat must 'hibernate' to 'germinate new dreams for the future'.

The Dreaming attracted over 3,000 guests during its three years of operation before the finances proved unsustainable.

The Rhydoldog House features a 'womb room' with a 'vagina-shaped' shower and rooms designed for yoga, group work and sound therapy.

Church called Ed Sheeran a 'greedy capitalist' last month — weeks before her own venture collapsed under a failing business model.
