Chelsea goalkeeper Emi Martinez is conscious in hospital after being stretchered off following a sickening collision at Everton

Emi Martinez rushed from his goal to challenge for a free-kick and collided heavily with Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite. The Argentine was felled by the impact, requiring oxygen on the pitch before being stretchered off after a lengthy stoppage for treatment. Xabi Alonso confirmed Martinez was conscious when he left the stadium and is undergoing 'precautionary tests'. Belgian keeper Mike Penders came on to make his Premier League debut.
Pedro Neto scored twice as Chelsea won 2-0, handing Everton their first defeat of the season.
The victory moved Chelsea up to fourth, ending a run without a Premier League clean sheet that stretched back to January.
Alonso admitted he knew little more: 'So let's see, but this is what I know so far.'
