China extends an open invitation to Katie Zacharia over 'proper toilets' remark after her five-day White House exit
Laughter erupts in the briefing room as Katie Zacharia cuts short her debut White House press conference after accepting just three pre-selected questions in 14 minutes.
Katie Zacharia followed her husband to China, where she worked at a law firm from 2011 to 2013. Her departure came mid-interview on Friday, when senior adviser Jason Miller appeared at her West Wing door: 'JD wanted to chat with us real quick.' She walked out and never returned. At that moment President Donald Trump was telling reporters: 'I think you should reconsider.'
Her debut briefing ran just 14 minutes, with only three questions taken.
When Sean Hannity pressed her on the matter, she acknowledged that she had never passed the bar exam.
Trump insisted he had not fired her: 'She's been brutalized by the media.'
