Chinese car giant Chery launches its Lepas EV brand in the UK with a target of 60 dealerships by the end of 2026

Chery International's fourth UK brand, Lepas, made its official debut at a VIP event in London's King's Cross, where the L6 electric SUV was revealed in complete UK trim before its planned autumn sales launch. Arnold Clark and Stoneacre Motor Group are among the dealer groups that have joined the network, while Black Horse and Lex Autolease, both arms of Lloyds Banking Group, will handle finance and leasing.
The L6 EV features a 65kWh battery with a claimed 279-mile range and can charge from 10 to 80 per cent in around 25 minutes.
Lepas is targeting a 2% UK market share within a year, with the UK acting as the launchpad for its broader European expansion.
Lepas CEO Zhai Xiaobing said: 'We are not here simply to introduce another new energy vehicle brand — we come to offer Britain something.'
