Jeremy Clarkson revealed that 35 to 40 crew members from 'Clarkson's Farm' are now sitting at home without work after the show wrapped its sixth season yesterday. Speaking at the Royal Television Society London Convention, the 66-year-old said the future of a seventh series remains uncertain. He is already planning a new project, which he says will need to be "unbelievably ambitious" to survive the social media onslaught.

Clarkson called for a full merger of BBC, ITV, Sky, Channel 4 and Channel 5, saying British television can only survive if it unites.

He warned gardening and cookery shows face extinction, saying 'anyone can do a gardening thing on social media.'

Season seven of 'Clarkson's Farm' is unconfirmed, with Clarkson saying only 'what are we going to do?' when asked about its future.
