Cleveland Police rule out any link between Middlesbrough house fire that killed girl, 7, and A66 crash
Valentina Foster, aged seven, and her aunt Natalie McDonald, 34, were killed in the fire at Birchington Avenue, Grangetown, which started at 5.23am on Wednesday. A 48-year-old woman who also escaped the blaze is in a critical condition at Newcastle's Royal Victoria Infirmary. Two men, aged 23 and 31, have been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the fire, which broke out under a mile from the A66 crash site.
