Dan Jukes, Nigel Farage's long-time right-hand man, also told an undercover reporter that Farage making money from politics was 'a bit priced in', adding 'no one's voting for him to be the pope'. The £5m came from Thailand-based crypto billionaire Christopher Harborne before the 2024 election. Farage said in a May interview that it was 'a reward for campaigning for Brexit for 27 years'. A parliamentary standards verdict is expected within weeks.

Jukes's lawyers accuse undercover group Verbatim of 'entrapment' and 'selective editing'.

Reform insists the transcript confirms the gift paid for Farage's lifelong security.

Jukes quit as Reform's media chief last month after a Channel 4 undercover documentary.
