Comedian Munya Chawawa says he saw more racism and homophobia in six weeks in Chichester than in his whole life

A cast member in his 20s was chased and verbally abused by young cyclists near Little London car park, forcing the cancellation of the 13 October show. Sussex Police have classified the incident as a homophobic hate crime, and a teenage boy has been arrested. Chawawa called the attack 'the tip of the iceberg'. Students involved in the A Midsummer Night's Dream run were racially abused from a passing car.

A group trailed audience members from the show back to their hotel, chanting 'dirty'.

A boy on a bicycle reportedly directed the N-word at another theatre visitor.

Chichester District Council said it was 'deeply saddened' and condemned the behaviour as 'completely unacceptable'.
