Stephen Lang, 58, of Camborne, was caught on body-worn camera and CCTV crumpling the notice and hurling it towards a female enforcement officer at Exchequer Quay car park in Penryn. He had parked outside a marked bay in November 2025. Lang then ignored a £250 fixed penalty despite reminders. Truro Magistrates' Court convicted him in his absence on October 14, piling on £1,920.90 in costs.

The officer picked the ticket up and put it back, only for Lang to rip it off again.

Cllr Thalia Marrington: 'We will not tolerate any abuse towards our officers.'

A £100 victim surcharge was added on top of the £250 fine.
