Coroner urges a sales ban on the tumble dryer blamed for a blaze that killed a father and his daughter, nine

Senior coroner Martin Fleming warns that 1.6 million Hoover and Candy dryers in UK homes may share the model's characteristics. The product safety watchdog has received a 'significant number' of fire reports involving the DX C10DCER-80. Sohaib Ahmed, 38, was found unresponsive behind his front door in Heckmondwike. His daughter Manahal later died of smoke inhalation.

Mr Ahmed's other daughter survived after extensive hospital treatment.

Experts warned the dryer can 'burn almost completely', hiding the original fault.

Firefighters reached the West Yorkshire house 13 minutes after a neighbour spotted smoke.
