'Cosmetic cowboys' are to be banned from Brazilian butt lifts after a mother-of-five died following a salon procedure

Alice Webb, 33, of Gloucestershire, lost her life within hours of undergoing a liquid BBL in 2024. Under the proposed rules, filler injections outside the face would be legally reclassified as surgery, restricting them to qualified medical professionals. High-risk procedures would be prohibited for under-18s, and rogue operators could face unlimited fines or fixed penalties of up to £4,000. A consultation will come before any legislation, with the parliamentary process due in spring 2027.

Treatments have reportedly been performed in Airbnbs, garden sheds, and public toilets.

Vampire facials and deep chemical peels would be available only through doctors, dentists, pharmacists and certain nurses and midwives.

Sasha Dean, left in a coma after a BBL, said: 'My body was just completely shutting down.'
